About the event
To register: ASI 2026 - Atlantic Summer Institute
The overarching focus is on building a future where well-being is accessible to every generation, drawing on Indigenous teachings (the Seven Generations Principle) and a Future Generations Approach. It addresses emerging issues like AI, social media, robotics, and guaranteed basic income.
Three Sub-themes:
Community — Strengthening community capacity, inclusive governance, and local leadership. Discussions will explore the “soft infrastructure” (mechanisms, resources, structures) needed for a well-being society, and how communities can act locally while contributing to national strategies.
Well-being — Building a shared language around well-being, promoting knowledge-sharing and mentorship, and supporting “boundary spanners” who connect networks. The goal is advancing the Geneva Charter’s vision of a more equitable, caring, and interconnected world.
Policy — Encouraging whole-of-government approaches that embed well-being at all levels. This includes intergenerational fairness, climate and social justice, and learning from models like Wales’ Wellbeing of Future Generations…
